The Chuno Nicaragua cacao origin is a rare cacao variety with an exquisite perfume and highly valued flavor. It is distinguished by a wonderful creamy texture and delicate yet remarkable tasting notes as cream, hazelnut, flowers, hints of aromatic woods, and the notorious bitter olive-like aftertaste.
If stored at the right temperature, this specialty bar has an impressive firm (almost hard) snap. The aroma is different on both sides. On the back, you can detect an invigorating explosion of floral, spicy, and black tea inclusion nuances. On the front, the enchanting fragrances of Nicaragua Chuno are more incisive: caramelized hazelnuts, fresh cream, and cinnamon/orange scents.
The texture is smoother rather than creamier with a pleasant silky finish. It takes time to melt too. The tasting profile is complex and the mouthfeel is a mix of warm/cool sensations. I noticed a lot of floral, cinnamon, orange flavors magically combined with brilliant cozy hazelnut taste and fresh cream undertones to smoothen out the palate experience. The finish is particular: the elegant fruity and earthy olive taste of the cacao origin is replaced by robust flavored and malty black tea aroma.
The aftertaste is full, intense, and embracing: pungent orange oil zest on the tongue and super moist spicy cake at the bottom of the throat crowned by successful bold black tea dancing notes across the palate.
NB: the milk dairy savor is imperceptible.
Definitely my favorite milk chocolate bar of all time.
